Creative Workshop: Cyanotype & Kozkoze w/ Amandine Boyer & Kim Yip Tong

Discover the photographic process of cyanotype* and take part in creating one of the artworks for the upcoming exhibition « All Islands Are Trees »!
Guided by artists Amandine Boyer and Kim Yip Tong, you’ll learn this photographic technique and discuss your connection with the plants in your garden and environment.

Conversations, integral to the artists’ research, may be recorded for documentation.
Workshop materials will be provided on-site, but feel free to bring leaves and flowers from your garden that are meaningful to you!
*Cyanotype is an ancient photographic process that produces unique cyan or Prussian blue image prints.

Amandine BOYER
Amandine Boyer is a Reunionese artist. She specializes in illustration and animation, aspiring to depict Reunionese culture and explore its adaptability through her animated documentary web series project “Zistoir Lokal.”
With the backing of Les Ateliers Médicis, she conducts title sequence workshops with children aged 6 to 11 in community or artistic residency settings. From January to June 2023, she contributed to Les Ateliers Médicis’ ongoing creative residency and is awarded the 2023 Talents La Kour Residency at La Cité des Arts de La Réunion for her animated short film project, “Kalbas i suiv la rasine.”

Kim Yip Tong
Kim Yip Tong is a multidisciplinary Mauritian artist. She explores and questions post-colonial identity within the context of the ecological crisis. Her artistic practices encompass a diverse range of mediums, including digital art, animation, photography, painting, kinetic and interactive installations, as well as textile art.
