Live Performance w/ Ginkgökoko

House of Digital Art presents a unique performance in its state-of-the-art immersive space! You are invited to discover artiste extraordinaire Ginkgokoko as she expertly plays with vocal textures and singing alongside field recordings and instrumental piano, reconciling the digital to the organic. As a multi-disciplinarian juggling visual arts, composition, production and singing, she infuses her interactive exploration of music with elements from her optical universe.

Gingokoko AKA Minh Boutin 

Inspired by musical therapy and eco-poetry, Ginkgokoko navigates both electronic music and the art of healing. She is fascinated by the opposing principles of idleness and flux, beauty and chaos, and harbours a passion for exploring the natural world through visual and sonic distortions. In her compositions, recordings of singing insects and birds are superposed over delicately crafted harmonies and distorted vocals. A similar process surrounds the creation of her moving paintings, generated from videos and photographs of faces, landscapes, water, flowers, trees, and light. 

With an academic journey spanning from graphical arts to jazz, Minh Boutin has developed a protean approach that prioritises improvisation as well as the transformation of matter, be it audio or visual. Her work, which encompasses mediums such as composition, photography, videography, programmation, and performance, takes the form of an artistic endeavour built around motion.
