Meet the Scientist w/ Patrice Huet

Come meet Patrice Huet, Scientific Director of La Cité des Volcans (Reunion Island), who will introduce you to the fascinating world of volcanoes! He will offer a scientific outlook on House of Digital Art’s Exhibition “If there was a territory in between noon and midnight”, focusing on the installations that have been inspired by our geology and its surrounding myths.

Patrice Huet has been fascinated by Earth and Space Science from an early age. He grew up in Reunion island, with his head in the stars and his feet on the slopes of the Piton de la Fournaise – one of the world’s most active volcanoes. He completed his university studies in La Réunion, Clermont-Ferrand, and Paris, where he specialised in Geology, Volcanology, and Computer Science. For almost 15 years, he has been the Scientific Director of La Cité des Volcans, a museum of Volcanology in Reunion Island. His job is to popularise geological knowledge and, more broadly, Earth and Space Science, all while promoting the development of new technologies for all.
